Introduction |
This is a Win32 Windows NT Eventlog tray application that monitors the NT Event logs. If you have ever wondered if there was a way for NT to alert you that events were being logged in the NT event log then this is the program for you. Once run EventMonTray sits in the taskbar tray area and looks like a small notepad. If you leave the mouse pointer over the icon then all of the available event log information is presented to you in the following manner:
App=A(B):Sec=C(D):Sys=E(F) Where: A = Number of events
in the application event log The application alerts the user by flashing a red "!" in the tray icon. This can be configured not to flash by selecting the options (Right Mouse button click on the tray icon) This program is freeware. As such, we give no warranty to its accuracy, fitness for any particular use, effects of use, or reliability. It may be freely distributed, although it must be distributed with all original files in their original format intact. Please contact Mobiusware with questions, comments, bug-reports or any updates you would like made to the program. |

Installation |
There is no special procedure to follow. Just place the program and its associated files in the Windows directory or in a dedicated folder (directory). Normally it would be best to start the program to your personal startup group. (Note this application CAN reside on a network drive.) EventMonTray has been developed and tested on NT 4.0 and requires no additional runtime DLLs. |
